Final presentations for the CAS in Art & Peace
The seven participants in the CAS programme ‘Art & Peace’ – a collaboration between HGK Basel FHNW, Swiss Peace and Atelier Mondial – will present their artistic and socio-cultural works, as well as their personal reflections, which were developed over the course of the six-month programme. The presentations are open to the public and will take place in the exhibition spaces at Atelier Mondial.

Atelier Mondial is situated in the 2014-built building complex at Freilager Platz on the Dreispitzareal, a developing art district behind the SBB train station. The studios of Atelier Mondial are part of an expanding campus of the arts with new off-spaces and galleries, located close to Schaulager and Kunsthaus Baselland and directly across from the Basel Academy of Art and Design (HGK). The ground floor of the structure at Freilager Platz 9 houses the House for Electronic Arts Basel (HEK), while the upper floor is occupied by visiting artists from all over the world.
Salon Mondial:
It has already demonstrated its abilities as a traditional white cube, thinking space, event venue, and seminar room: the 135m² Salon Mondial exhibition space, located in the heart of the residential ateliers, can be used freely and flexibly for shows, exhibitions and events. Atelier Mondial occasionally hosts its own shows with visiting artists and stipend recipients from the region, but the venue can also be rented by outside parties for art events. It is only the space that is available to rent: those hiring the space must provide their own technical equipment.
