What happens during Kunsttage Basel?
Kunsttage Basel is an annual art festival. In around 60 museums, galleries, exhibition spaces, and off-spaces, modern and contemporary art is made accessible to the public. The offering of exhibitions, tours, performances, workshops, talks, and studio visits is open daily to everyone interested.

The next edition of Kunsttage Basel will take place from Friday, 28. August to Sunday, 30. August 2026.

Visitors can look forward to a diverse program of over 60 exhibitions as well as 200 tours, performances, workshops, talks, and studio visits.
When is the program published?
The full programme of events and exhibitions is available online from the end of June and will be added to through August. Printed flyers will be available at all cultural institutions starting in August.

When are the exhibitions open?
All exhibitions are open Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 18:00, and on Fridays from 13:00 to 18:00.

During exhibition opening hours. Individual program items may have different times, which are noted in the programme.

Most exhibitions and events are free to attend.
Do I need a ticket for all events?
No, no central ticket is required. Offerings that require payment can be booked directly on-site.

Yes, for example with the Museums-PASS-Musées, colourkey, or KulturLegi — depending on the institution, reduced or free admission also applies regardless.

Where can I get information during my visit?
At the info point in the kHaus on Unterer Rheinweg, you can get daily information about the program and participating institutions.
What can I experience at the Festival Centre?
The Festival Centre, located directly on the Rhine, is the first point of contact for information. It also hosts talks, performances, workshops, and film screenings under the title "Culinary Infrastructures." Food and drink offerings are also available here.

Are the Kunsttage suitable for children?
Yes, families and children are welcome throughout Kunsttage, and there are special offerings for children and families, including workshops, tours, and hands-on areas. Using the "For Families & Children" filter, you can search the event programme for children's activities.
Are there on-site activities for children at the Festival Centre?
In the kHaus, children can get creative and craft at the art corner throughout Kunsttage. The "Art Passport – Tour de Bâle" for children aged five to twelve can also be picked up at the info point in the Festival Center.
