Richard McGuire. Then and There, Here and Now
Beschrieb EN: American illustrator, designer and musician Richard McGuire has lived a thousand artistic lives. With the graphic novel “Here” (2014), McGuire has created a book with new cult standing. In the 1980s, he was part of the avant-garde art scene in downtown New York that mixed art and music and initiated the genre of street art. The Cartoonmuseum Basel showcases the first comprehensive retrospective of McGuire’s work, and Christoph Merian Verlag is publishing an overview compendium at the same time.
