"Terra Promessa" Palermo-Lampedusa 2020-2023

The sun shines on the cliffs of Lampedusa where a moving story began. What began as an exploration of immigration and childhood memories in Palermo became a series of visual narratives about people seeking refuge. In Palermo I discovered poignant stories of migrants that led me to Lampedusa. There I documented the hopes and fears of the arrivals. Each photograph shows their strength and resilience in the midst of their challenges.

The <wirdnachgereicht> Studio, founded in 2019 and based at the vivid Feldbergstrasse in Basel, is a space enabling synergies between the various disciplines of art, fashion, music, performance, and technology. Former and further collaborations with upcoming local artists from different backgrounds create the possibility to form cross-thematic projects, simplifying the accessibility towards versatile disciplines.
