Upon appointment: Studio Visits

What is the relationship between artistic practice and workspaces? The spaces where artists create and develop their work are generally less known than the spaces where they exhibit. Basel boasts several studio buildings and studio support programmes. This offering is complemented by a changing number of vacant spaces and temporary uses. This spectrum of spaces attracts artists. Some have decided to settle in Basel and continue developing their artistic practice from there. They are the focus of two tours in Kleinbasel, where selected artists will be visited in their workspaces.

This tour will visit the studios of Sus Zwick & Muda Mathis, Monika Dillier, Jürg Stäuble & Maya Rikli, and Rut Himmelsbach. To conclude the tour, attention turns to an exhibition at FILIALE examining how artists living in the Basel region represent their studios.

Meeting point: In front of the entrance to VIA, Amerbachstrasse 55a, 4057 Basel

Participation is free but registration via form is mandatory. Maximum 15 participants.
