Angles & Angels

With Angles & Angels, Clemens Fellmann shows room-filling sculptures made from interwoven home textiles, such as cloths, curtains or upholstery covers. New walls, corners and niches are created in the densely filled room. Woven walls precede brick walls and represent the primal form of shelter. The architectural dimension contrasts with the intimacy of the textiles, creating a tension between comforting confinement and unease.

PERIPHERIE 8, the art room, is located on the top floor of a residential building on the outskirts of Basel. PERIPHERIE 8 is an independent OFFSPACE. The art room is open for artistic experiments and has the motto: experimental, poetic, performative. The space is open for collaboration, exchange, and mediation. The focus is on the diversity of different media.
